Erbium lasers are a type of ablative laser used in dermatology and cosmetic procedures to precisely remove layers of skin. Their high affinity for water makes them ideal for this purpose. This precision allows for the treatment of various skin conditions, including the removal of certain types of moles

The process typically begins with a consultation where a dermatologist or qualified practitioner evaluates the mole to ensure it is benign (non-cancerous). This is a critical step, as laser removal is not suitable for cancerous moles, which require a different treatment approach, such as surgical excision, for a proper diagnosis. Once the mole is determined to be benign, the procedure can proceed:

2. The practitioner meticulously "planes down" the mole until it is level with the surrounding skin. This precise, controlled removal minimizes damage to the surrounding healthy tissue
